Here at sCommerce, we’ve covered sites for booking just about everything from seminars to concerts. There are a lot of smaller events, though, as well as simple booking for ongoing classes of limited size, that aren’t covered by most of these big boy event apps.
Bookwhen.com fills that void with their simple, easy-to-use, and low-cost (even free) tool. It’s a smaller-scale, generic booking service that specifically targets ongoing events like classes or repeat seminars, but is flexible enough to be used for other events, including one-offs.
Using the site is pretty simple. You just create an account, build an event using their fill-in-the-blank tools, add a logo or other branding and launch it. When visitors to your site book themselves for all or part of your event (as you allow), you get an email or test message letting you know.
Payments can be collected on your own website or through PayPal and from your management screen, you can see your schedules for events, how many have booked, and so forth. Once an event is closed for new bookings (either sold out or you’ve closed it yourself), you can download the client information and other data in CSV format for use in a spreadsheet.
The booking page itself is completely customizable for color, branding, and so forth so that you can retain continuity between your site and the Bookwhen app. Once an event is booked and done, it can be repeated to save time filling in new information.
Pricing starts at free (max event size of 150, up to 300 bookings per month) to $50/month (unlimited everything). Definitely good value and a site worth checking out if you have booking needs.
