Certify – An Easy Expense Management Solution App

certify-logoIf you’re in a career that includes a lot of expense reports, especially on-the-fly entries because you’re on the road a lot, then you know that your least favorite thing to do is filling out those reports.  Even if your work is not like that, but you have to do expense reports, you know that they are a huge waste of time that take away from what you should or could be doing instead.

Certify.com wants to change that by giving you the ability to quickly and easily itemize expenses and draft reports on the fly.  Often in three steps.

Certify is an online expense management app which began last year as Cirtify.com.  Releasing a new version of their Web app  in February, the company received another round of angel investments in July ($1.9 million) from people like former TD Bank CEO William Ryan.

The basics of the app are centered on receipts and expense reporting, of course.  These can be done from any computer that can access the Internet or even through a mobile device.  Receipts can be uploaded as camera phone captures, scans, emails, and even fax.  Individual accounts allow for the setup and building of expense reports for weekly or monthly submission.

Corporate accounts, which are more versatile, allow collaboration so that a single portal for each person submitting items for reimbursement can be sent individually or as reports.  At the corporate level, these expenses can be tagged to POs, job titles/descriptions, invoices numbers, and more.  This makes for easier accounting and fully downloadable reports for accounting.

Features between corporate and personal accounts are very different.  The core of the site is the same from the person who’s creating reports, but the corporate side has a lot of extra reporting, tracking, and other options not available to the single user.  In fact, it’s a nearly all-in-one solution for expense reporting at the corporate level.

Free trials are available, which allow up to 25 users (for a corporate setup) for thirty days.  Prices start at $4.95/month for personal accounts and $52.50 for corporate accounts.  The Certify app is entirely Web-based, so no software or hosting installation is required.
