Google Realtime Search is to Return Thanks to Google+

Most people are now aware that there is a new social media venture in town, and it’s called Google+.  This has led to the return of a Google search feature that only last month was thought to be dead and buried.  This is Google Realtime Search, which used to be powered with the help of Twitter.

But this will no longer be the case.  We know little more than this at the moment, because Amit Singhal from Google has simply said Google is “actively working” on the developments.  But it certainly makes sense that the search engine should use the vast amounts of data that it is already bringing together under the Google+ umbrella.

While the information regarding this new move from Google is sketchy, it is thought that Twitter will not be part of the new arrangement.  It does not appear that they will come to a new deal of any kind.  This has led some to wonder how good the new look Google Realtime Search will be, since Twitter had a large amount of data to feed it with.  Will Google+, still a fledgling entity, be able to match it to any degree, or will it pale in comparison with what Realtime Search used to be like?

We shall simply have to wait and see what happens next.  There has been no firm date for the return of Realtime Search as yet, although since it disappeared relatively quietly perhaps it will return in the same way.
