iStopOver – Rent Space on the Cheap, Anytime, Anywhere

Submitted by Craig Agranoff on Thursday, 25 February 2010 View Comments

Looking for a rental?  Maybe you’re making the trip to the 2010 World Cup and aren’t interested in those $800/night South African hotels or you’re looking for some cheap, local office space you can rent quickly.  Or maybe you just need a place to stay for a few weeks or a couple of months before your new house or apartment is ready?

iStopOver is for you, then.  Whatever your rental need, if it’s space you need, you can probably find it on iStopOver.

The front page of the site features links to sub-sites which cover popular searches and needs, like rooms in Vancouver or near the World Cup in South Africa, as well as other common searches such as office space or short-term home rentals.  It beats Craigslist and other, broader sites thanks to its narrow focus.  If you need a new microwave, then maybe Craigslist or eBay is for you.  Need a storage rental?  iStopOver.

The app works pretty simply.  Choose what it is you’re looking for and then narrow the search by location and and you’ll see a convenient Google Map with locations of the rentals pegged on.  Each flag has a number in it that corresponds to a list of the rental sites (with photos and price, if available) on the left.  Clicking any of those bring sup more information.

It doesn’t get easier than this to find rentals.  Need a room near downtown for a couple of nights?  You might find one in someone’s house for a third of what the local hotels want.  Office space just big enough for your desk and a phone?  Easy.

Definitely a site worth checking out.

  • While you're checking that out... I suggest you check out MetroFlats.com as well... they're certainly newer so they don't have AS large a presence... yet, but they're growing.
