LG has announced three new tablets to augment its award-winning 8.3-inch G Pad. The new models will be in a 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch display sizes and named the G Pad 7.0, 8.0, and 10.1 respectively.
The G Pad 7.0 is made to be hand-held and usable with one hand as per a smart phone and which utilizes the same display technology and processing power that the 8.3 has. The 8.0 is also the same as the 8.3 and is aimed towards slightly more processing power to go along with the immersive multimedia display. Finally, the large 10.1-inch has the largest battery of the bunch to go with the big display.
Although LG has not given ship dates for these new tablets, we can expect to see them this summer. Shortly after that, you can expect a Google Play and/or Silver version to launch as a special option with the updated Android high-speed option as per the 8.3.
The new G Pad options will officially unveil at tomorrow’s MedPI 2014 in Europe.
“Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG in a statement.
The new tablets also include UX features (QPair 2.0, Knock Code) to allows Bluetooth pairing with other Android devices and the cool Knock Code feature which creates passwords in a secret “knock” (tap) sequence rather than letters and numbers.
Expect to hear more about these pads tomorrow when they unveil.
