MeetWays Helps You Meet Halfway

Submitted by Aaron Turpen on Tuesday, 4 November 2008Comments

MeetWays is a pretty cool concept and it has all of the requirements of a popular Internet endeavor: it’s simple, easy to use, and very useful. The basic concept is to allow people at two different addresses to find the middle point between them easily and then to explore the shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. at that middle ground.

So if you’re tired of always driving across town to meet your friend just to drive another ten blocks just to see a movie, why not find a theater that’s halfway between you and meet there? Or a restaurant? Or whatever.

Pretty good concept. The site uses Google Maps as its base and ads a few things like filters for your search, so you can find American or Chinese food restaurants only. This also allows for businesses with employees who’re out and about a lot (such as sales, marketing, construction, etc.) to find middle points where they can meet for spontaneous meetings or lunch.

All of these are time, fuel, and money savers for those who could use them. It could also improve some people’s social lives as they may be able to compromise with friends and family who aren’t nearby so the trip to visit doesn’t seem to daunting. All in all, MeetWays is a good idea.
