Muttr – Speak Your Mind Anonymously
Got something on your chest? Need to vent? The Internet is great for that. The problem is, most of the venues we have for venting are directly attached to our real lives. Facebook, Twitter, your blog, etc. all have your name attached to them. Not good if you need to let loose some frustration on your boss, spouse, or relatives. Or even the random @%#!& on the street who cut you off at the intersection.
Muttr.com offers an open forum for ranting anonymously. Except that you have to have an account at Muttr to do it. Plus you can share your “anonymous” rants on your social networking accounts (Twitter, Facebook, etc.). Assuming the signup script on their site works for you, which after three separate attempts, I was unable to use.
The idea is not exactly new or unique, but the setup is nice and the site’s color scheme and overall theme are matched very well. The Muttr’s you’ll see scrolling up the front page are real-time and fun to read, for sure. One person ranted that the site wouldn’t let his username be “Anonymous” while another went on about girls with questionable moral backgrounds.
Looking through the timeline of rants on Muttr, the amount of humor mixed in with the usual nearly-incoherent rants is fun. The political yammerings from all ends of the spectrum are fun and the responses people leave to other’s diatribes is often priceless.
Here are some choice quotes:
I hate it when my boyfriend is obvious to my feeling or to the correct way of society
Is that a complement?
When you click the button that says “YES TO ALL” then I expect it to apply to “ALL” files, otherwise it should say “YES TO SOME” microsoft, you do have some nobheads working for you
Not sure why this is worth ranting about, but I’ll agree with the “nobheads” part.
Why did God create us and let us live on Earth and die in order to be with Him at the end of the day? Why didn’t He create another Gods like himself and throw a party instead?
Theology abounds.
As you can see, Muttr is at least fun to read. Since I couldn’t get a working account, I wasn’t able to try it out, but I suspect it’s not very complicated. Muttr is also available on most smart phone platforms, including the iPhone. Definitely worth a chuckle.
