PicApp Partners With Yardbarker, Bringing Their Funding To $3.2M

Submitted by Craig Agranoff on Friday, 19 September 2008 No Comment

PicApp has offered free and licensed images for blog sites, filling a real need for the bloggers. The expense of paying for rights to an image for an exciting and appealing blog for their readers has proven too costly for most blog sites. PicApp has been improving their features and adding more images to create the content that is affordable and needed for bloggers everywhere.

Yardbarker has signed on with PicApp and that has brought the funding to a whopping $3.2M, not too shabby since their spin off from PicScout. Yarbarker is a network of over 550 sports blogs and is now signed on to use PicApp’s services. PicApp has over 10 million images offered and can be copied and pasted on to the blog with only a small advertisement for the site under the image.

Images offered from PicApp include those from Corbis, Getty, and Image Source, to name a few. The images are fully licensed and available for users of the service. Over 90% of images available on the internet infringe the owner’s rights; PicApp has offered a real solution to this problem.

In addition, PicApp has continued improving their site and added new exciting features. The features include:
•    Quick Publish Window
•    Non Flash Image Container
•    Faster Search
PicApp will continue to grow their funding, sign on more partners and grow their image library; the company thrives on bringing users what they want, and what they need!
