PopTent Brings Democracy To The Creative RFP Process

Trying to show a company the perfect creative concept for their new campaign, but keep getting retainer-blocked by their smug, over-priced agency? Sick of responding to RFPs with no confidence your work isn’t simply entering a black hole with every other anonymous creative professionals? Then try PopTent, a new assignment-based online interface connecting creative pros and great brands.

The site, still in beta form, allows independent creative professionals to build profiles and submit commercial video work – and if their submission is deemed the best – collect cash and get a foot in the door.

PopTent is the sister company to XLNTads, with the former focusing more on the collaborative community aspect of creative work. This includes the ability to share portfolios and chum it up with fellow creative types in a community setting.

But the biggest boons of PopTent provides are access to clients and providing a super-fast HOV lane for work protocol; simply downloaded the needed logos, fonts, etc. when vying for a project and upload your finished result for consideration. No need to a midnight Kinko’s run here.

PopTent is just getting off the ground and only has a smattering of available projects currently, but the format is sound and the site sure beats cold-calling big companies’ creative directors.
