Seat Karma – Great Ticket Prices Great Seats
Buddha says that this is the ultimate live entertainment search engine. It’s my opinion that, in this case, the fat boy is wrong. While the site is a hard-core search of ticket brokers (200 of them, or so), it falls short in a lot of ways. Namely it’s reliability.
SeatKarma.com has ticket listings for concerts, theater, sporting events, and almost anything else that’s live. It does a great job of listing events and tickets for them, but that’s about all it does well. Good luck actually getting a ticket.
I tried three different ticket attempts for three separate events, all happening in the next two months. The first one listed tickets that were at good prices, but then when it asks for seating preference, the site kept hanging up or throwing me back to the seating chart page. The second attempt yielded the same result while the third one listed tickets and then said “sold out” when I attempted to choose.
I’m sorry, but 0 for 3 puts this at the bottom of my list.
Seat Karma seems like a great idea and hopefully they can work out the bugs and get it going correctly. The graphics, site layout, and the stadium/venue maps are awesome. The website is a great setup, it just needs some back-end work to make it functional.
Founded in March of 2008, the site was created by Ohad Nezer and Chris Nicolaysen in Bellaire, Texas. It’s privately held and funded through commissions from the ticket brokers who participate. It’s free for users.
