Simplicant HR App Makes Small Biz Hiring a Snap

With America’s jobless rate the highest since Swatches and hammer pants were popular, it seems strange to write about a site that aims to help business with just that: Recruitment. But armed with less time, people and money to throw at recruiting, companies need every edge they can to staff more cost effectively than ever. Especially small companies.

Within the recruitment industry, power players like Monster.com, CareerBuilder and Yahoo’s HotJobs cater to Fortune 500 companies and mega-hirers looking for bulk human capital transactions. And behind the scenes, other big companies you haven’t heard of help employers track and manage applicants, forge tactical recruitment metrics and optimize recruiting protocols.

But as someone with experience in the industry, I can say without stirring up controversy that many of these companies are looking for big ticket sales, not necessarily mom and pop grocers, savvy new start-ups and an under-staffed corner delis.

So lucky for Simplicant, a new D.I.Y. Applicant Tracking System (ATS) aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, there is a ripe (and lonely) demographic waiting out there.

With Simplicant, small business HR folks owners can manage resumes, measure application flow, track interview times, and message candidates and colleagues. Heck, you can even create your own job board. The Web-based application follows a familiar Web 2.0 feel that’s easy to pick up even if you aren’t ‘Net savvy. And a glace through Simplicant’s blog shows they’re receptive to feedback and constantly adding new functionality on the fly since the beta site went live in April.

So if you’re a small biz owner feeling the economic pinch, and need an HR app that’s simple yet sophisticated, check out Simplicant.

While you are at it, also checkout CATS. http://www.catsone.com . I find simplicant a bit too simple. CATS seems to have both simplicity and rich feature set. Try both and be the judge…see what fits your needs.

Simplicant stands for simplicity whereas others in hope of boasting features to customers become cumbersome like the software mentioned above.

I have used both of these for my company. Using cats at first, I felt very hard to manage the controls, very complex system. As soon as I switched to simplicant, I just started loving it. It's very much simple and easy to use and manage as compared to cats.

    Simplicity rules !!
