TweetSum – The Twitter Follower Manager
TweetSum is a Twitter service built on the Twitter API that helps you to organize your followers (I call them “Twits” because I like the sound of it) and better track and organize them. It’s based on a learning algorithm DBI that improves over time to better organize your followers for you.
The interface is extremely slick and very easy to use. It’s a basic drag-and-drop plan with three columns: those who are following but not being followed, those you’re following, and “Meh.” That last is my favorite.
So when you first log in, you’ll see those three columns. Dragging people from the “New” column (those who’re following you, but you’re not following back) to the Followed column will automatically update your Twitter to put them on your follows list.
If you don’t want to follow them, you can put them in the “Meh” column so you can forget them. They’ll stay on your Twitter list, but you won’t be following them. Perfect for the spammer or the minute-by-minute “updater.”
The best part is how easily the system can be used, which means that if you have a friend who’s generally quiet and just sends interesting tidbits during the week, but turns into a “Score updates on the big game every 3 minutes” on Sunday, you can easily unfollow and re-follow to avoid this behavior.
Obviously, if you have a lot of Twitter followers and are continually gaining more, you Ashton Kutcher wannabe, TweetSum is a great tool too.
TweetSum started in February by a small group of Seattle coders and script junkies in their spare time over a weekend. It’s free and definitely worth checking out for the Twitaholic!
