Update Your iPhone Today Version 2.2 Now Available

Submitted by Craig Agranoff on Friday, 21 November 2008 View Comments

Apple just released a new OS update for us folks with iPhones.  It is version 2.2 and includes a bunch of new features and improvements.

The latest update of 2.2 includes many of the things that the message boards have been rumbling about, here is the list:

  • Google Street View
  • Public transit and walking directions
  • Display address of dropped pins
  • Share location via email
  • Resolved isolated issues with scheduled fetching of email
  • Improved formatting of wide HTML email
  • Improved stability and performance of Safari
  • Improved sound quality of Visual Voicemal messages
  • Pressing Home button from any Home screen displays the first Home screen
  • Preference to turn on/off auto-correction in Keyboard Settings

Apple also made improvements to help decrease in call setup failures and dropped calls as well as making Podcasts available for download in iTunes application (over Wi-Fi).  One change we all wanted to see was the inclusion of a copy and paste feature, which we didn’t get this time around.  Guess all we can do is wait.
