What Is Your Intent

Submitted by Aaron Turpen on Saturday, 8 November 2008 Comments

Need to feel good today? Want to tell others how good you feel? Spreading a feel good message?

Those are the things that Intent.com is all about. It’s a site about feeling good, seeing the positive in the world, and gaining a perspective of the good that is in life. People from all walks of life, all parts of the world, and all kinds of backgrounds converge here to spread their messages of peace, harmony, and happiness.

Kind of sounds like an Internet playground for modern hippies. Right?

In a way, that’s what this site is, but it’s more than that too. Normally, I avoid this kind of thing as it tends to get cheesy and a little too, for lack of a better word, “spacey” for me. I live in a town full of religious fanatics and somehow they’ve all learned that I won’t turn them away, but will talk to them. So now I get visited by Jehovah’s Witnesses, Baptists, Scientologists and even the local Wicca. I don’t mind much, I’m a social person and I love, err, “arguing” religion.

This site, however, piqued my interest and I actually looked through it and then, amazingly, signed up. I never sign up for stuff like this. I even used my real email address. It’s that good. Now I visit daily (Intent.com is on my RSS reader) and feel more uplifted and happier about the day. It’s much better than the Bailey’s in the coffee trick!

  • I signed up for the site because my girlfriend works there. But then I started responding to their posts and adding my intent and interacting on the site--and I got hooked.

  • Intent is all you described and more. I have been a member for a short while, I joined to have a personal blogspace and to share what is important to me. I quickly fell in love with the general attitute of the members, and their welcoming and inclusive view of the world.
I began to engage with members there, and was rewarded with friend requests and comments from people who really seem to "get me" through my writing. As well as the overall positivity that pervades the space.
It has been the beginning of what I hope will be a long friendship with a group of intelligent, diverse, and interesting people. I love Intent!
