Bitcoin rallied more than 1 per cent and is back above $28,000, while Ethereum advanced 1.8 per cent and exceeded $1,800
There have been considerable increases in the crypto currency market. Bitcoin (BTC) rallied over 1 per cent and is back above $28,000, while Ethereum (ETH) advanced 1.8 per cent in the last trading day and exceeded $1,800.
The strength of the reigning crypto currency continues to surprise analysts. During the past month, Bitcoin increased its superiority over other crypto currencies, to represent nearly half of the total capitalization of the crypto market, and managed to avoid collapsing amid the banking crisis.
Craig Erlam, senior analyst at Oanda, underlined that BTC is trading “quite independently of everything else,” as has “often” been the case during the previous month. It remains near its recent highs though and does not seem to be in any mood to give much back. That is in spite of the newsflow not seeming to be specifically in its favour unless you buy into it as a virtual safe haven, Erlam said.
The present circumstance for Bitcoin is quite positive, that is the reality on the ground, crypto currency expert Glen Goodman said on the ‘First Mover’ program of ‘CoinDesk TV’. He also underlined that the “injection of new money into the economy” as a backstop by a “panicking” Federal Reserve to manage the banking crisis improved investor liquidity for specific stocks and cryptos.
People are feeling brave enough now with this new liquidity to get back into what they suppose large, profitable firms like Microsoft like Apple, and similarly, in the crypto market, they are going for what are believed to be the safer cryptos, which are Bitcoin and Ethereum, Goodman said.
On the whole, in spite of the last bullish quarter and the good outlook of some experts, Bitcoin liquidity has dropped to 10-month lows. The failure of crypto-friendly banks like Silvergate Bank and Signature Bank has removed vital payment and credit channels for the sector, particularly on U.S. exchanges, resulting in more price volatility and more slippage fees.
