Thousands of Facebook users around the UK are struggling to access the social media website, it is reported.
More than 4,000 people reported they had problems accessing the social networking site around the country.
Most people who are struggling to use Facebook are finding problems via their mobile apps, representing some 75% of the reports.
Just 7% are having trouble with the website, according to downdetector.co.uk.
There are currently 4,151 people who have said they are experiencing a Facebook outage.
The cases appear to be evenly distributed around the UK with hotspots in London, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.
But there are also smaller pockets of people having difficulty the length and breadth of the country. People have reported outages in cities around the UK.
Many users have stated their problems range from logging on to being able to comment.
One person wrote: App issues. Nothing loading.
Similarly a Facebook user wrote: Comments and links to and from posts not working or opening.
Problems were with the apps mainly with one person saying: My likes are not showing and can’t add anyone or look at other people’s profiles.
There have been over 5,000 people commenting on having problems.
Facebook said that there was a ‘technical issue’ which was resolved.
Earlier this evening, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing our services, a Meta spokesperson said. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
It comes after the social media giant banned Russian state media from advertising on its platform.
Following Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the firm’s head of security Nathaniel Gleicher confirmed Russian state outlets will not be allowed to advertise or monetise on the social network anywhere in the world.
He said: We also continue to apply labels to additional Russian state media.
