Cybereason has launched a Mobile MDR (Managed Detection and Response) cybersecurity service.

Mobile MDR leverages machine learning and a big data architecture to connect events across the full attack lifecycle and an organization’s devices and networks, according to Cybereason. It performs behaviour-based analysis to uncover suspicious activity like malicious mobile apps, abnormal north-south network connections and OS vulnerabilities.

In addition, Mobile MDR provides threat prevention, detection, investigation and remediation across an organization’s workstations, laptops and iOS and Android mobile devices, Cybereason stated. It also provides an organization with access to a team of security analysts to monitor mobile threats.

Software companies typically promote MDR services in a range of ways. Some companies sell directly to end-customers. Others offer a resale model to MSPs and MSSPs. And still others allow MSPs and MSSPs to manage the MDR services on behalf of end-customers.

In the case of Cybereason, partners can resell the mobile MDR service. However, it lacks a multi-tenant management option for MSPs and MSSPs.

The Mobile MDR launch comes after Cybereason recently made several moves to expand globally.

Cybereason recently named veteran cybersecurity sales executive Frank Koelmel as its VP of Central Europe. Koelmel is responsible for expanding Cybereason’s partner and customer base in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the company stated.

Furthermore, Cybereason this month launched operations in the Middle East. These operations are led by Tarek Kuzbari, an industry sales veteran who has held leadership positions at cybersecurity software companies Kaspersky, Group-IB and Bitdefender.

Cybereason also hired cybersecurity industry veteran Andy Philpott as its GM of EMEA in December. Philpott leads Cybereason’s EMEA business and strategy.

Cybereason offers the Cybereason Defense Platform, which combines next-generation antivirus, endpoint detection and response and MDR capabilities. MSSPs can integrate the Cybereason Defense Platform into their offerings via the company’s partner program.

Meanwhile, Cybereason last year raised $200 million from SoftBank to develop autonomous security services. The company has secured $400 million in funding to date.
