Payment FinTech EBANX acquires Brazilian firm Juno

EBANX connects more than 35,000 companies with their customers, with a mission of giving access for Latin Americans to purchase from international eCommerce merchants

The Latin American payment FinTech EBANX has acquired the Brazilian eCommerce billing and banking firm Juno.

As reported by Crowdfund Insider, Juno brings with it more than 35,000 small and medium company clients. The acquisition follows a $430 million Series C by EBANX in June, as well as the acquisition of shares in the Brazilian Banco Topázio, which is helping to optimize the company’s foreign-exchange operations, the company said in an announcement.

Juno is a trusted partner that has an outstanding history in the payments industry, offering innovative services and helping thousands of Brazilian companies and entrepreneurs to sell online, said João Del Valle, CEO and co-founder of EBANX. We are honoured to have them onboard, to provide Brazilian companies and consumers with broadened access to the very best payment solutions.

Juno, which was founded in 2014, lets merchants sell online using Pix, boleto bancário (a Brazilian payment method) and credit cards, while also managing their payments into their own digital accounts. The company also offers Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) capabilities and is part of Brazil’s Interbank Payments Chamber (CIP), a clearinghouse that validates user data.

The company’s solutions have led to a total volume of 4.7 billion Brazilian Real ($835 million) last year, which EBANX says positioned Juno as one of the most important FinTechs serving SMBs and larger corporations in Brazil.

Founded in 2012, EBANX connects more than 35,000 regional and global companies with their customers, with a mission of giving access for Latin Americans to purchase from international eCommerce merchants.

Its acquisition of Juno comes just days after the announcement that EBANX was working with the eCommerce credit card payment platform Cybersource on a collaboration that will streamline payments for customers across Brazil.
