Checkout Blocks debuted on Shopify in September 2022 and is considered to be one of the most popular checkout apps on the platform
Shopify has acquired Checkout Blocks, a firm offering a no-code solution that lets Shopify merchants customize their checkout.
Checkout Blocks founder Gil Greenberg announced the move in a Monday post on X, saying that more than 850 Shopify Plus merchants have used the company’s solution to customize their checkout and that, as of Monday, the company is making its Starter plan free for all Shopify Plus merchants.
From day one, our goal was to help as many Shopify merchants as possible to customize their checkouts, Greenberg stated in the post. This acquisition allows us to succeed on an even bigger scale. What does this mean for Checkout Blocks? Only good changes ahead!
A Shopify spokesperson confirmed the acquisition in a statement to TechCruch, saying, “Checkout Blocks is a highly talented team and has built a world-class product that enables merchants to unlock customized extensibility. We are thrilled to welcome them to Shopify and continue building our mission to make commerce better for everyone.”
Checkout Blocks debuted on Shopify in September 2022 and is considered to be one of the most popular checkout apps on the platform, as per the report.
It lets merchants customize their checkout by adding things like AI recommendations, custom content (such as information banners, images, headlines, and more), custom fields (such as gift messages or delivery notes), discounts, email address validation, personalized order status and thank you pages, and more.
The firm’s app enables Shopify Plus merchants to add new fields to collect additional data or show new information to their customers, control how delivery and payment options are displayed, and design fully branded checkouts, as per the Checkout Blocks website.
