E-commerce giant Amazon launches its social influencer program

The use of social media like YouTube and Instagram for the promotion of businesses, products, and services is becoming more rampant by the day. Amazon.com, Inc.(NASDAQ:AMZN) has chosen to get in the game as well and has launched its social media program. The e-commerce has an existing affiliate program and those using it earn their fees only after the recommendation of a product that lead to sales.

However, the new program will involve the use of popular social media platforms the likes Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB). Amazon will put into consideration various factors in choosing the influencers to put on board. The primary consideration is the number of followers each one has across social media as well as the level of fan engagement on posts.
