Verishop adds Livestream Shopping to its platform

Livestream Shopping

The social commerce platform is adding over 125 livestream shopping programs that will provide users with 12 hours of live shopping a day

Verishop announced on Monday that it has brought livestream shopping to its iOS app.

The social commerce platform is adding over 125 livestream shopping programs, which are hosted by more than 115 influencers, brands and other “expert streamers,” that will provide users with 12 hours of live shopping a day.

Verishop’s streamers include YouTube star Gabriel Zamora, model and entrepreneur Kate Bock and Deja Foxx, former campaign strategist for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Other streamers on the platform include brands such as 1822 Denim and R+Co.

As hosts share products from the platform, chat with users and answer questions, Livestream Shopping boosts the eCommerce platform’s social shopping features. Hosts will also share “exclusive” discounts and tips.

The launch of Livestream Shopping on the Verishop iOS app is our next step in seamlessly combining ways to discover, connect and shop in an engaging app designed for commerce, the press release reads.

Verishop launched this feature, Shop Party, in December which allows users to shop online with up to five friends in a private video feed.

Users can also find a shoppable content feed on the app, where they can find and share curated collections of favourite products. Certified Verishop creators can get 10 percent commission from purchases made from content they post on the app. Verishop first launched its social commerce app last July.

Social shopping brings back the personal experiences of in-store shopping, enabling consumers to find an online community from home. Over 50 percent of consumers shop on social media, FIS Global Head of B2B Payments Mike Kresse told PYMNTS recently. Social is no longer a marketing tool as it historically was for retailers. It’s actually a transactional tool as well. The old ‘buy’ buttons that used to redirect consumers to a retailer’s website are a thing of the past, Kresse said.
