This development comes after a series of regulatory lawsuits against Tron founder Justin Sun and his celebrity supporters
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a warning to investors about crypto currency investments. The agency has especially mentioned digital assets that may not follow several US rules and has urged investors to think twice before becoming involved.
This development comes after a series of regulatory lawsuits against Tron founder Justin Sun and his celebrity supporters. The official warning also notes that the market is very speculative and unpredictable. It also details the latest regulatory clampdown on the sector as a whole.
After recent enforcement actions against several companies, the Securities and Exchange Commission has issued an investor notice cautioning of probable risks related to crypto currency investments. To be more specific, the regulatory body has issued a press statement cautioning new investors of the risks involved in the sector.
Crypto currency investments may be very volatile and speculative, the warning says. There is also a caution about the “risk of loss” for private investors. It also said, “the only money you should put at risk with any speculative investment is money you can afford to lose entirely.”
Moreover, the Securities and Exchange Commission cautioned that some crypto currency investment companies “may not be complying with applicable law, including federal securities laws.” After that, they state the probability of fraudsters, who are experts at convincing retail investors into schemes, often culminating in terrible losses.
On the other hand, the caution comes as the Securities and Exchange Commission’s two-year legal battle with Ripple nears its conclusion. But, the regulator’s recent enforcement actions suggest a new emphasis on taking a tough stance against certain digital asset organizations.
